چکیده

Background: Shoulder instability with critical bipolar bone loss can be difficult to treat. Anterior glenoid block augmentation and partial humeral head resurfacing is a viable option. Indications: This procedure indicated in patients both anterior (≥20%) an engaging Hill-Sachs lesion. Technique Description: A deltopectoral approach performed, followed by subscapularis tenotomy. The lesion resurfaced arthroplasty. replaced prefabricated allograft. An open Bankart repair then performed. Results: Three case reports give evidence that this technique surgical option for Discussion/Conclusion: Partial resurfacing, allograft augmentation, Patient Consent Disclosure Statement: author(s) attests consent has been obtained from any patient(s) appearing publication. If the individual may identifiable, included statement of release or other written form approval submission

Results of Open Bankart Surgery for Recurrent Anterior Shoulder Dislocation with Glenoid Bone Defect and Concomitant Hill-Sachs Lesion

Background: Open Bankart surgery is the main treatment procedure in patients with recurrent anterior shoulder dislocation, especially in cases with glenoid bone defect. The goal of this study was to determine the outcomes after open Bankart surgery in cases of recurrent anterior shoulder dislocation with glenoid bone defects and concomitant Hill-Sachs lesions. Methods: Between 2006 and 2010,...

Fresh Osteochondral Allograft to the Humeral Head for Treatment of an Engaging Reverse Hill-Sachs Lesion

Posterior dislocation of the shoulder is rare, occurring in approximately 2% to 4% of all shoulder dislocations. Through a mechanism similar to that first characterized by Hill and Sachs, these dislocations have the potential to result in impaction fractures of the anterior aspect of the humeral head. These so-called reverse Hill-Sachs or McLaughlin lesions are estimated to occur in 86% of acut...

Management of Humeral Defects in Anterior Shoulder Instability

BACKGROUND A Hill Sachs lesion is a posterior-superior bony defect of the humeral head caused by a compression of the hard glenoid rim against the soft cancellous bone in the context of an anterior instability episode. The presence of these humeral defects increases with the number of dislocations and larger lesions are associated with a greater chance of development of recurrent instability an...

Determination of prevalence of glenoid bony lesions after recurrent anterior shoulder dislocation using the 3-D CT scan

Background : Glenoid bone damages consisting of anterior rim erosion and bony avulsion are very important in decision making for treatment of recurrent dislocation in shoulder joint. This study was aimed to determine the prevalence of these damages in patients with anterior recurrent shoulder dislocation.   Methods : The study was a cross-sectional study evaluating patients with unstable shou...
